Why not duke it out in court?

Is the court system equipped to help your family find a peaceful transition?  Not even close.  After witnessing serious flaws in the family court system for over 20 years, River knows family court is the worst place you could go to solve relationship issues.  

Attorneys are trained to debate. Most law schools never train attorneys on problem solving. Often the first question your family law attorney will ask is “what’s wrong with your spouse/co­parent?” immediately focusing on the negatives.

Judges are trained to listen to evidence that meets strict ­admissibility standards (which means there is always a lot they never know) from two sides who are in an insanely expensive show­down, trying to show the worst sides of one another in a cut­throat, winner ­takes ­all, style competition.

The system is not set up to accommodate healing.  At the end of a court process, a few financial issues and kid ­schedule issues may be “ordered” for your family but what about all the other issues? Totally unresolved!  Plus the court process leaves everyone emotionally drained if not seriously traumatized.
